Home About Stations Broadway-City Hall Station

Broadway-City Hall Station is expanding to prepare for Millennium Line service.

As part of these preparations, we are:

  • Adding 5 new elevators
  • Connecting to the existing Canada Line station in 4 different places
  • Making the Canada Line platform 10 metres longer
  • Adding 12 new escalators

These improvements will create a seamless transfer between the Canada and Millennium lines within the fare paid zone and prepare the station for more people when the Broadway Subway Project is complete. During construction, you might see changes and hear work inside Broadway-City Hall Station.

The maps below show how the Broadway Subway Project is connecting to the station.

Station entrance level

The station entrance level is where passengers enter the station at street level. Here, the Broadway Subway Project will create two new openings in the wall to connect to elevators, stairs and escalators down to the new Millennium Line platform.

Canada Line northbound platform

The northbound Canada Line platform is where passengers board Canada Line trains towards downtown Vancouver. Here, we’re extending the platform from 40 to 50 metres, and creating an opening in the wall to connect to elevators, stairs and escalators down to the Millennium Line platform, and up to the station entrance level.

Canada Line southbound platform

The southbound Canada Line platform is where passengers board Canada Line trains towards Richmond and YVR Airport. Here, we’re extending the platform from 40 to 50 metres, and adding new escalators, stairs and an elevator that will connect to the level below. Below, a walkway under the Canada Line tracks will take passengers to the Millennium Line platform.
