Starting on the morning of May 20, Broadway is reopening to vehicle traffic between Quebec and Main streets with one lane in each direction.
Work to implement traffic changes is anticipated overnight from May 19 to 20 and May 21 to 22. When overnight work is required, work hours can range from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Watch for specific night notices.
Work to complete the remaining two lanes of E. Broadway will continue into the summer.
Once E. Broadway is open to four lanes of traffic, there will also be dedicated right-turn lanes at Main Street.
In addition, most of the fences along E. Broadway will be removed, and the south sidewalk on E. Broadway between Main and Quebec streets will be reconnected.

Crews are preparing to start backfill activities at the tunnel entrance and pouring the final section of roof for the above-ground station entrance.
Over the coming months, crews will focus on waterproofing, concrete pours, and rebar installation as station construction progresses.
Along the elevated guideway, work to complete crew walkways and install permanent noise barriers is ongoing.
Installation of cables for communications and train systems will also continue as crews prepare for the start of dynamic testing on the elevated guideway this year.
Over the last few months, crews have completed a major milestone: track installation is now fully connected from VCC–Clark Station through to Broadway–City Hall Station.
Work at the elevated guideway will continue through the fall as rail is welded and pulled into the remaining tunnels all the way to Arbutus Station.
Regular hours on the elevated guideway are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
You may experience some elevated noise during specific activities.
Mount Pleasant Station
Typical hours of work: 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Trucks may arrive on site as early as 5 a.m. Intermittent night work.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
Crews are rebuilding the road above Mount Pleasant Station.
One block of E. Broadway between Main and Quebec streets is closed to vehicles until May 20, 2026.
Residents and businesses may experience elevated noise, including but not limited to, line eradication, line painting, mobile cranes removing concrete barriers, saw cutting of utility pipes, and connecting utility pipes.
Work hours are from 10 p.m. on May 19 to 7 a.m. on May 20.

This work is required in preparation for the reinstatement of permanent utilities in the area and marks the next stage of construction for the future Mount Pleasant station.

Work to complete Mount Pleasant Station continues as traffic deck removal and road reconstruction gets underway this winter.
Beginning January 26, E. Broadway will be closed to vehicle traffic between Main and Quebec streets for approximately four months, while crews complete traffic deck removal, utility relocation and road reconstruction work in that block.

Broadway-City Hall Station
Typical hours of work: 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Intermittent night work.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
Crews are backfilling the station between Alberta and Cambie streets to fill the space between the underground station roof and the road above.
Permanent utility relocation work is ongoing on Broadway at Alberta Street and Yukon Street south of Broadway.
Lane reductions on Cambie Street due to construction of the Canada Line/Millennium Line underground connections.
Over the next three months, crews will focus on waterproofing, concrete pours, and rebar work to construct the station and connect to the existing Canada Line.
Backfilling work will continue and move west towards Cambie Street, and backfilling will begin on Cambie Street this spring, followed by street restoration.
Utility work will take place on Yukon Street and W. Broadway west of Alberta Street.
Additionally, micropiling work will take place this spring on W. Broadway between Yukon and Cambie streets.
Regular work hours are Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work on Sundays and holidays.
When overnight work is required, work hours can range from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Expect temporary traffic changes related to the delivery of materials and construction activities.
Work at the future Broadway-City Hall Station is progressing, and in the coming months crews will continue installing permanent storm and sanitary utilities in the area. This work will be completed in phases and is expected to continue through the spring.
Regular work hours are Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work on Sundays and holidays.
Some activities, such as tie-ins to existing utilities, or installing temporary bypasses, may require overnight work between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Traffic will not be permitted northbound on Yukon Street between W. 8th Avenue and W. Broadway.
Oak-VGH Station
Typical hours of work: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
Crews are backfilling the station to fill the space between the underground station roof and the road above.
Crews are removing the traffic deck. W. Broadway is reduced to one lane in each direction during traffic deck removal and road reconstruction work.
Permanent utility relocation work is ongoing at Laurel Street.
Crews have started backfilling between Laurel and Oak streets, gradually restoring the space above the station roof and completing installation of permanent utilities near the station.
Inside the station, masonry works, mechanical and electrical installation continues. As activity increases, the neighbourhood will see more trucks, equipment, and crews on site, along with some noise and temporary traffic changes.
Regular work hours are Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work on Sundays and holidays.
When overnight work is required, work hours can range from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Work on the future Oak-VGH station is progressing and crews will begin reinstating permanent utilities in the area as soon as the end of November. Utility work is expected to be completed through spring 2026.
Regular work hours are Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work on Sundays and holidays.
If overnight work is required, work hours can range from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Regular temporary lane closures on W. Broadway between Oak and Laurel streets between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., overnight or on weekends may be implemented to support construction activities and deliveries.
South Granville Station
Typical hours of work: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Regular night work.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
Permanent utility relocation work ongoing on Hemlock Street and in the laneway south of W. Broadway with intermittent lane closures.
Crews will begin backfilling activities at Granville Street and Broadway, followed by traffic deck removal this summer. W. Broadway will remain open throughout traffic deck removal work, with one lane in each direction being maintained as crews rebuild the roadway.
Regular hours of work are from Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work that starts earlier or work on Sunday and holidays.
When overnight work is required, work hours can range from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Permanent utility work at the future South Granville Station is expected to begin in late November now that preparatory bypass activities have been completed.
Regular work hours are Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work on Sundays and holidays.
When overnight work is required, work hours can range from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Temporary lane closures and changes to pedestrian access to accommodate the reinstatement of utility pipes and equipment staging.
Arbutus Station
Typical hours of work: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Regular night work.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
W. Broadway reduced to one lane in each direction between Burrard and Arbutus streets to support construction activities.
Permanent utility relocation work is ongoing at Arbutus Street.
Permanent utility work will begin as early as April 10 with working occurring on W. Broadway at Arbutus and Cypress streets.
Regular work hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. with intermittent night work.
Work will begin at the northwest corner of W. Broadway and Arbutus Street, with work occurring between Arbutus and Cypress streets as crews move between locations.
Activities include, but are not limited to, hydrovac work, saw-cutting, excavation, backfilling and resurfacing work.
Arbutus Street will be intermittently closed to southbound traffic between W. Broadway and W. 8th Avenue. Northbound traffic will be maintained while work is taking place in this area. Nighttime work on Arbutus Street may involve intermittent closures to vehicles in both directions between W. Broadway and W. 8th Avenue.
Cypress Street will have intermittent lane closures between W. 8th and W. 10th avenues while work is taking place. During this time, Maple Street between W. 8th and W. Broadway will remain open to traffic.
Construction at the future Arbutus Station is entering a new phase, with crews beginning to reinstate permanent utilities and remove the traffic deck.
One lane in each direction will be maintained on W. Broadway as crews rebuild the roadway above the completed station roof.
Work to install permanent utilities will begin in spring between Arbutus and Cypress streets.
Regular hours of work are from Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work that starts earlier or work on Sunday and holidays.
Crews will continue the construction of the future Arbutus Station. This work includes rebar installation, carpentry and related activities mostly inside the station
Regular work hours continue through the day and night hours proceed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Some intermittent elevated noise related to construction activities.
Temporary traffic changes may be in place during some construction activities.
