Concrete activity will continue this fall as crews construct the roof of the above-ground station entrance, interior stairs, and the 82.5-metre-long platform.

When overnight work is required, work hours can range from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Over the last few months, crews have completed a major milestone: track installation is now fully connected from VCC–Clark Station through to Broadway–City Hall Station.
Work at the elevated guideway will continue through the fall as rail is welded and pulled into the remaining tunnels all the way to Arbutus Station.
Regular hours on the elevated guideway are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
You may experience some elevated noise during specific activities.
Mount Pleasant Station
Typical hours of work: 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Intermittent night work.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
Crews are backfilling the station, which is the process of filling the space between the underground station roof and the road above.
Deliveries to site require intermittent closures of less than 30 minutes in the southbound curb lane on Main Street between E. Broadway and E. 10th Avenue.
The Broadway Subway Project will be conducting roadwork on Kingsway between E. 8th Avenue and Broadway. Intermittent work is expected to take place over two weeks.
Work hours for this activity can be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Activities include: concrete chipping, saw cutting, and intermittent hydrovac work.
Crews will be working along Quebec Street, E. 8th Avenue, and Main Street.
These preparations will create a temporary bus detour around the one-block closure of E. Broadway between Quebec and Main streets, helping to keep people and vehicles moving safely and efficiently during construction.
Typical work hours are Monday to Saturday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Occasionally, work may take place overnight, start earlier, or occur on Sundays and holidays.
Preparatory activities for the bus detour which will include geotechnical work, saw cutting, intermittent hydrovac work, landscaping, modifying sidewalks, road work, and installing temporary traffic lights at Main and E. 8th Avenue.
Crews are focusing on constructing the above-ground station entrance, and progressing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations, including all four escalators, and pouring concrete for staircases.
We will begin preparatory work to rebuild the block of Broadway between Main and Quebec streets which will include a temporary vehicle detour beginning in 2026.

Backfilling is set to begin as early as October 28 at Broadway-City Hall Station, in the area between Alberta and Yukon streets. This is the second station on the Broadway Subway Project to reach this milestone. Backfilling is the process of filling the space between the station roof and the surface. This work will result in increased trucking activity, some traffic impacts, and intermittent noise as material is delivered to the excavation, positioned and compacted.
Work hours for backfilling are Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Backfilling operations will take place on W. Broadway between Alberta and Yukon streets, and on Yukon Street south of W. Broadway.
The first phase of backfilling is expected to take approximately five to 10 weeks and is weather-dependent. Backfilling will continue after permanent utility work is complete.

Oak-VGH Station
Typical hours of work: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
Work on the future Oak-VGH station is progressing and crews will begin reinstating permanent utilities in the area as soon as the end of November. Utility work is expected to be completed through spring 2026.
Regular work hours are Monday to Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. There may be occasional work on Sundays and holidays.
If overnight work is required, work hours can range from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Regular temporary lane closures on W. Broadway between Oak and Laurel streets between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., overnight or on weekends may be implemented to support construction activities and deliveries.
This fall, crews are focusing on building the above-ground station entrance, constructing internal walls, and fitting out the station interior, where installation of mechanical and electrical equipment and plumbing is underway.

South Granville Station

Permanent utility relocation work ongoing on Hemlock Street and W. Broadway with intermittent lane closures.
Permanent utility work at the future South Granville Station is expected to begin in late November now that preparatory bypass activities have been completed.

Temporary lane closures and changes to pedestrian access to accommodate the reinstatement of utility pipes and equipment staging.

The will be temporary lane closures on W. Broadway and Hemlock Street between 8th and 10th avenues may be implemented to support permanent utility work.

Arbutus Station
Typical hours of work: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Regular night work.
Crews are building the new station, including concrete and rebar activities with increased deliveries of supplies.
W. Broadway reduced to one lane in each direction between Burrard and Arbutus streets to support construction activities.
This December, the Broadway Subway Project crew at Arbutus Station begins the second phase of backfilling along Broadway, between Maple and Cypress streets.
Work hours are Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Activities are expected to continue through January and are weather dependent.
Concrete pours in the fall will be focused on the remaining walls and roof sections at Arbutus and Cypress streets.

One lane in each direction on W. Broadway between Arbutus and Burrard Street is maintained.
Work will continue inside the tunnels to build the concrete base for track installation and install track and other systems.
Crews are excavating and building the multiple service passages between the twin tunnels.
While crews work inside the tunnels, ventilation fans will be in operation at each station as they play a crucial role in maintaining optimal air quality within the tunnels.
While tunnel activities take place below ground, some activities such as soil and debris removal, concrete pours, and material deliveries will require equipment operating at street level at the future station sites.
